The Limp Wrist Round Table is an initiative to build a community that focuses on growing intellectual integrity by discussing, and hopefully practicing, the critical work of radical thinkers. The Limp Wrist Round Table is a solution to my embarrassment of engaging texts from radical thinkers whose oeuvre is one grounded in community, and not individualism, which is to say: I need to make a constant effort in building community with folks who can materialize accountability for one another, create space for healing, and grow into resilience and reliance.
“‘Uno existe porque alguien mas piensa en nostros’” -Mother Mendoza Wrapping up season one of The Category Is…Mexico City, episode six “House Mother” pays homage to Mother Mendoza. She is a mother in every sense of the word. She ensures her House children have food, clothes, money to pay rent, helping provide their basic necessities. Mother Mendoza makes a point to lift her House children up under the belief that everyone in the house can advance toward their goals without ever needing to drag another down.
In The Category Is… Mexico City episode five “Boiz in Heels,” the audience receives a testimonial from Overkill and Dalia Xiucoatl, who speak on behalf of their gender identity.
