JET FUEL REVIEW
Jet Fuel Review | Romeoville, IL Jan. 2017 - Present
Jet Fuel Review (JFR) is a student-run, international literary magazine based out of Lewis University in Romeoville, IL. I am currently working as a consultant, assisting with advising incoming student-interns of the role a literary magazine plays within the macrocosm of the publishing industry as well as the responsibilities it takes to upkeep a literary journal.
During my time with JFR, I took on many roles, where responsibilities ranged from copy editing the website as well as published eBooks, copywriting book reviews, creating promotional materials, consulting with an editorial staff, as well as maintaining the layout and design of JFR's website.
Below you will find two separate promotional materials titled 2018 Pamphlet and 2020 pamphlet, which the staff uses on several occasions when publicly representing the journal during events such as the Chicago Tribune Printer's Row Literary Fest and the Associated Writers Press annual literary conference. The Assistant Managing Editor Workbook is a detailed account of expectations and responsibilities laid out for the person responsible of the Assistant Managing Editor role. The Fall 2018 Newsletter will showcase my hand in copy editing as well as copywriting two separate summaries of the staff's bi-annual accomplishments.
Furthermore, I wish to share Issue 16 from the Fall of 2018, one of the many issues I laid out for the JFR website. Issue 16 is a special issue because the journal received a Pinnacle Award from the College Media Association for our literary contributions, technical abilities, layout, and design. The last item is my Weebly Starter Guide, which is a step-by-step manual to creating and updating the JFR website.
My goal is to demonstrate expertise in maintaining a clean, successful brand image for JFR as well as to express my capabilities in organizing, detailing, and setting an exceptional standard.
