Miguel earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in English Literature and Language from Lewis University based in Romeoville, IL. He serves as the Book Review Editor and Website Consultant for Jet Fuel Review, an international literary journal housed in Lewis University. In the summer of 2019, he was the recipient of the Wolny Writing Residency. His writings can be found in Kissing Dynamite Poetry, 30 N, The Ekphrastic Review, Rogue Agent, and elsewhere. Favorite shows include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender, 3%, and Pose. I watch a lot... a lot... of t.v., so I'm sure I'm missing everything I talk about.
Favorite films include The Living End (1992), Paris Is Burning (1991), Head On (1998), Moonlight (2016), BPM (Beats Per Minute) (2018), and basically anything super gay.
Favorite reads include those written by queer people of color, use and mention of queer aesthetics, use of absurdity and deadpan humor, reference to pop culture, and poems about the moon!
